TMJ

Helping Patients Suffering With TMJ

Disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are a group of problems with your jaw joint. If you've had pain or a "clicking" sound, you'll be glad to hear that these problems are easier to find and treat than they used to be. When the joints of the jaw and the muscles used for chewing (muscles of mastication) don't work well together, these symptoms show up. The right and left joints that connect your jaw to your skull are called temporomandibular joints, or TMJs. Some TMJ problems can lead to more serious conditions, so it is important to find and treat them as soon as possible.

TMJ disorders can't be fixed with just one treatment, and it takes time for treatments to work. Dr. Martone can help you feel better about your jaw and make it healthier.
